Internet Marketing Tips - Lambs to the Slaughter

in Product

Well, this article is not going to digest well with many people's stomachs. So this is fair warning...read at your own risk. There is a lot of ugliness in this business and unless WE do something about it...it's not going to go away.

I don't even know where to begin. How about this? How about the product launches with the servers mysteriously crashing the minute the launch begins. Either this is a carefully planned tactic or these gurus are too stupid to figure out how to setup a system where this won't happen. Either way, it doesn't make them look very good. And yet, we keep buying into it. As soon as the server comes back up, we run to the site, scrambling to try to get that product before it's sold out.

Then there's the phony scarcity tactics. You know what I'm talking about. The product comes out. The creator says that it will only be available at this price for 24 hours. So everybody runs to get it before the price goes up. Suddenly, one week later, we hear something like this. "Due to popular demand, this product will be on sale at this price for one more day...today." And the rush begins again. What happened to "only one day at this price?"

What about the "new and improved" BS that keeps going around? You know what I mean. Product X comes out and it claims to be the be all and end all to your Internet marketing problems. So everybody runs to grab a copy at some insane price. Then, six months later, a new and "improved" version of this be all and end all product comes out claiming that it makes the OLD one obsolete. What happened to the "be all and end all" of that product? But no matter...the lambs run off and buy THIS one, only to find out that it really isn't that much different.

And of course how can you forget about the "bad news" emails sent to simply get people to open them up? Naturally, when you open it, there is no "bad news" at all, or the news is so ridiculous that you have to laugh at it.

But it doesn't matter. The lambs keep opening these up and keep buying whatever is inside of them, forgetting that they've essentially been tricked into opening the email in the first place.

Yes, we are like lambs to the slaughter. The guru says "jump" and we ask "how high?" If we had any fewer brain cells in our heads we'd be perfect fodder for a cadaver experiment. But we keep on keeping on.

So what's the answer? The answer is simple, but very few people will do it.

On the receiving end, stop giving in to these tactics. Say "no" to the guru and his dirty tricks. On the delivery end...STOP PULLING THIS CRAP.

How's this for a concept? Run an ethical, no BS, no nonsense business. Provide REAL value and stop leading the lambs to slaughter.

No doubt I am going to get a lot of slack for this article.

Bring it on...I'm no lamb.

To YOUR Success,
