Internet Marketing Strategies - Go Above and Beyond the Basics

There is the 80-20 rule you probably have heard about. Basically it goes like this: for every 100 people who start on something only 20 of them will really follow through and make it work. For my money, one of the best internet marketing strategies is to be sure you are in that 20%. How do you do that? Go above and beyond the basics! Treat this as a business...get creative...you'll make more sales and pocket more money!

So for example, building a squeeze page is a basic internet marketing tool. And you can start with a very simple squeeze page to build your list. Now, take that simple squeeze page and take it up a notch by giving a review of the product you are promoting. If you can write a good, honest review...not just a raving testimonial...you can set yourself apart from other people promoting the product.

Once people read the review they will be more inclined to sign up for your list and buy the product from you...you have used it and are sharing what the benefits of the product are.

Of course, in order to do this you need to have tried the product and be able to stand by your review-you can include what some of the drawbacks or flaws are, too-if you include some points about what could be better your readers are going to be more open because you aren't coming across as just a walking advertisement for it!

Now, the 80% will have just picked one product to promote...and then they will have to start all over. But not you-you are in the top 20%...and so you have preselected 4 products to promote.

Now that you have people who have opted-in to your list  you can use another of the advanced internet marketing strategies to your advantage: autoresponders! Now, in your autoresponder series you can give them more information about other products...and over time you can promote even more products...you start with the four but of course you don't stop there...because you are in the top 20% you keep finding products that will help your list!

When you are promoting someone else's product they should provide you with some tools. Believe it or not, a lot of people won't even use a fraction of them! You might have been given a sales page, emails for your autoresponder system, social networking posts and tags, advertising banners, all with your affiliate link attached. That is really, really cool. So use them!

But don't stop there! Get creative. Use all the skills you have and apply them to promoting the products.

The best way to really make money online is to take the best basic internet marketing strategies, like building a squeeze page and promoting a product and then using your energy, your creativity you go beyond the basics and set yourself apart and give people a reason to buy this product from YOU. That's what puts you in the top 20%!
