Computer Technology has really allowed for the advancement of manufacturing.  It would've been almost impossible for people a century ago to have imagined the type of computer components that are being used in today's manufacturing processes.  The GE Fanuc series for one and parts like IC660BBD020 and IC660BBD023 have aided so much in the development of manufacturing over the last century that it's almost impossible to imagine what life would be like without these technological marvels.  Consider for instance the fact that products today can be produced incredibly quickly and at a very high level of quality.  This is not due to anything other than the fact that we now have such a high level of technology helping us to build the products that we all use on a daily basis.  If it wasn't for this technology we would certainly be in a position where we would not be able to produce products as rapidly or at as high of quality.  Really when you think about it products like the GE Fanuc series have made the technological advancement of the modern world possible.  If you were unable to produce products so quickly and with such a high level of skill it would really make advancement impossible for the most part, or at least it would make the speed of advancement that we've come to know and depend on impossible.  We all know the fact  that products are often obsolete by the time we get them, and that's a good thing because it means that technology is developing very rapidly.
